Vulvar wrinkles and elasticity

We separate wrinkles, skin laxity, and volume loss when addressing firmness concerns.

Which area does the procedure change, and how?

Vulvar wrinkles can be affected by skin changes, excess skin, and volume loss together. Energy-based treatment, skin excision, and volume restoration work differently, so these approaches are considered according to the cause.

We check changes in the skin itself

Skin irritation or disease is checked first. When energy-based treatment is considered, the device, treatment area, evidence, and risks are reviewed together.

We check whether extra skin is present

If there is substantial excess skin causing sagging, surgery to reduce the skin may be another option. The same change should not be expected from firming treatments alone.

We examine volume loss separately

If wrinkles stand out because of volume loss, adding volume may be considered. You do not need all three methods.

What change are you aiming for?

Wrinkles and skin condition

We aim for changes in the skin and contour using a method suited to the main cause.

Extent of change by method

Energy-based treatment is not a method of cutting excess skin or filling with fat or filler. We distinguish what each method can address.

We distinguish dryness, sagging, and volume loss.

Skin folds of the vulva vary from person to person. Even if firmness seems to have changed, dryness, skin irritation, or volume change may also be present. Identifying the main concern helps determine an appropriate care direction.

You can hear an explanation during your visit, review what you need to know, and then decide.

Please start with the concern that feels most pressing.

It itches and stings

Before a procedure that changes appearance, we first check for skin or mucosal causes. Please also tell us about cleansers you are using and any recent treatment.

The skin is loose and rubs

We examine where discomfort occurs and the condition of remaining tissue. Whether tissue adjustment is needed is reviewed separately during a surgical consultation.

Volume looks reduced

A different approach from reduction surgery may be needed. If you are considering an injectable procedure, we also review the material, risks, and approved indications.

Even if the procedure name is the same, confirm the purpose for which it will be used.

Energy-based procedures

Lasers, radiofrequency, and similar devices differ in how they work and where they are used. Discuss which concern they are used for and on what basis, as well as expected changes and limits.

We do not start by setting the number of sessions

We first assess the cause and the condition of the skin. We do not promise results in advance or say that the same number of sessions is needed for everyone.

A procedure should not create new discomfort.

Counseling on risks and alternatives

Ask to have possible risks such as pain, burns, and scarring explained, and also compare the option of not having the procedure and other treatments for your symptoms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it the same as a brightening procedure?

Pigment change and tissue sagging are different issues. Rather than treating every change with one procedure, we consult based on your main concern.

Feel free to bring your questions.

Please tell us what is bothering you and your previous examination and treatment history. Together we will confirm the care you need.
