Care for symptoms is needed separately
Bleeding after sex, between periods, or after menopause still needs a visit to look for a cause, even if screening results were normal.

Gynecology
We follow you from screening through confirmation of abnormal results, treatment of precancerous lesions, and your next visit.
If you are considering cervical screening in Sasang, Busan, please bring your previous results and vaccination records.

Cervical cancer screening looks for abnormal cervical cells and is a process that can lead to further tests and treatment when needed. We distinguish the roles of cytology and HPV testing, and review previous results, symptoms, and treatment history together.
An abnormal result does not always mean cancer. Ask for guidance on the next visit and when to recheck, based on your result.
Bleeding after sex, between periods, or after menopause still needs a visit to look for a cause, even if screening results were normal.
Cells collected from the cervix are analyzed. South Korea’s national cancer screening program offers cytology at 2-year intervals to women aged 20 and older; individual eligibility should be confirmed.
This test checks for high-risk HPV and related findings. It is not the same as a Pap test; necessity, cost, and the scope of testing are discussed separately.
Cervicography (Cervico) is available at our clinic. We discuss which tests you may need during your consultation.
Depending on the results and risk level, colposcopy or biopsy may be considered. Not every abnormal result leads immediately to surgery.
Please tell us about your recent period, possible pregnancy, and any previous abnormal results and treatment. We will confirm how to prepare and when to test.
You can also consult us about cervical cancer vaccination at our clinic. We review your vaccination history and advise on any vaccinations you may need.
If terms on the report are hard to understand, please ask what the finding means. We will also go over why the next test or treatment is being considered.
Note the timing of any follow-up test and the care you need. If you have had an abnormal result before, you may need a schedule different from routine screening.
We explain what the results mean and whether further testing or treatment is needed. We also review previous results, medications, and pregnancy plans.
If further evaluation or specialized treatment is needed, we help with appointments and care coordination at a partnered regional university hospital. We also prepare the test results and records needed for that visit.
Please keep a record of the care and follow-up test schedule you were given. If symptoms change or questions come up, please consult us rather than waiting until your next appointment.
Vaccination and screening serve different purposes. Even if you have been vaccinated, check the screening and follow-up plan that applies to you.
A positive result alone does not determine surgery. Observation, further testing, and treatment are decided based on cytology and tissue testing, previous results, and your individual situation.
An abnormal result alone does not confirm cervical cancer. Cervical cytology, HPV tests and previous results are considered together to decide whether follow-up tests, a biopsy or other further care is needed.
At LILEAP WOMEN'S CLINIC, we assess precancerous lesion test results and status, and when needed we provide guidance on conization (LEEP). If further evaluation or specialized treatment is needed, we help with appointments and care coordination at a partnered regional university hospital.
Cervical cytology looks at cell changes in the cervix. The endometrium and ovaries are different sites, so a separate evaluation based on your symptoms and risk is needed.
Please tell us what is bothering you and your previous examination and treatment history. Together we will confirm the care you need.
