Premarital / Preconception Screening

We distinguish the wedding schedule from pregnancy plans and prepare the health checks both of you need.

We listen to your plans first, rather than starting from a fixed package.

While preparing for marriage, you can review your current health, vaccinations, and any needed infection tests. The focus of counseling differs depending on whether you want to conceive soon or continue contraception. Both partners do not necessarily need the same tests.

You can hear an explanation during your visit, review what you need to know, and then decide.

Decide what you hope this visit will cover.

I want to organize my health records

Existing conditions, medications, vaccinations, and recent screening results are reviewed, and any additional tests that may be needed are discussed.

I am preparing for pregnancy

We review your menstrual and pregnancy history, medications, and vaccination timing. Lifestyle and nutrition counseling needed for pregnancy preparation is linked to separate guidance.

I would like to discuss contraception and infection testing

We choose tests based on your current contraception method and exposure situation. We also discuss how far test results will be shared, respecting your wishes.

What to have ready before your appointment

  1. Each person's records

Please prepare recent test and vaccination records and a list of medicines you take. If you do not know past results, start with what you do know.

  2. Schedule and how to prepare

We check whether any vaccinations or treatments could affect pregnancy plans. Preparation such as fasting is explained according to the actual tests.

  3. Results consultation

We explain what each test means and whether further confirmation is needed, and we coordinate any needed treatment or vaccination with the timing of pregnancy.

Screening is not a certificate that guarantees the ability to become pregnant.

Understanding the scope of testing

Even if results are normal, testing cannot predict every future illness or pregnancy concern. A single value such as AMH does not determine the chance of pregnancy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to have this several months before the wedding?

The time needed depends on planned tests, vaccinations, and treatment. Consulting earlier based on plans to try for pregnancy and your health—rather than the wedding date—helps you prepare.
