Even after childbirth, I need medical care for myself.

First prioritize guidance from the delivery hospital, then confirm examination schedule based on your recovery status.

  1. At discharge time

    Next appointment and wound care, check for any symptoms requiring contact.

  2. During recovery period

    Monitor for bleeding, pain, and mood changes, and feel free to contact us even before your scheduled appointment.

Menstrual bleeding and wound recovery

How to check?
Confirm pain or discomfort · perform wound examination if necessary
Points to consider
Please let us know the amount and changes of bleeding, as well as any discomfort in the perineum or vaginal incision site.

Blood pressure and pre-existing conditions

How to check?
Confirm any abnormal findings during pregnancy and follow-up plan
Points to consider
If you had high blood pressure or blood sugar issues during pregnancy, please bring the examination schedule advised at the delivery hospital

Urinary and pelvic floor symptoms

How to check?
Consultation for urine leakage, urinary discomfort and pain during intercourse
Points to consider
Please do not suppress your discomfort. Additional evaluation may be required based on your condition.

Lactation and mental health

How to check?
Check for breastfeeding difficulties, sleep issues, depression, and anxiety
Points to consider
If daily life is affected by difficulties, please request assistance. We will coordinate appropriate medical referrals.

Pregnancy is possible even before menstruation returns or during breastfeeding.

If you have any abnormal symptoms, please come in for consultation regardless of your regular checkup schedule. For the newborn's examination, please check separately after delivery.

When should you receive a postpartum check-up?

Please prioritize the schedule provided by your delivery hospital. Depending on your delivery method, incision site, blood pressure, and overall condition, additional medical visits or further tests may be needed. Upon discharge, confirm your next appointment; if no appointment is scheduled, please contact your healthcare provider.

Can I consult even if I gave birth at another hospital?

When scheduling, please inform us of your delivery date, delivery method, and current symptoms to confirm the scope of available medical care. Bringing your delivery and discharge records and a list of medications you're taking will be helpful. Do not skip any scheduled follow-up visits arranged at the delivery hospital.

Does contraception remain necessary even if you're breastfeeding or have no menstruation?

You can become pregnant even while breastfeeding or before your period resumes. If you do not wish to become pregnant, consult about appropriate contraception methods based on your breastfeeding status, postpartum recovery, and overall health, and discuss the best time to start.
